Angella Young named Employee of the Quarter, 4th Quarter 2012

Angella Young:
“I’m loving my job!”

“Surprise, surprise!”

That was Angella Young’s reaction to being selected as Dexter Credit Union’s Employee of the Quarter for the second time in less than three years!

When she was named Employee of the Quarter in May 2010, Angella was a teller at our Central Falls branch. Today, she is the head teller in Central Falls. She’s happy with the added responsibility, and with the chance to help the members of her team grow in their jobs.

While Angella’s job description may have changed since she joined Dexter Credit Union in 2005 with five years of banking experience, her fondness for the Credit Union and her colleagues hasn’t changed a bit.

“This is my home away from home,” Angella says. “It’s a great place to work, our members are great, and the people I work with are fun. I enjoy all the different personalities.

“I’m loving my job!”

Angella is happiest when the pace is brisk, and the challenges great, like working the drive-up window on a busy Friday. And, life outside the office can be challenging, as well.

“My family keeps me busy, too,” she says of 18-year-old daughter India, who will start courses in veterinary science at New England Tech in January, and 4th grader Miles, who is into karate. “But I unwind and reward myself every week without fail, by having my hair and nails done. It’s an important part of my routine, the ‘me time’ that recharges me so I can keep doing my best for our members and my co-workers, day in and day out.”

Being the Employee of the Quarter “feels good,” says Angella.

“It makes me know my hard work is recognized and appreciated. It’s a real honor — especially the second time!”
