Angella Young named employee of the quarter

Angella Young:
“I’ve found a home at Dexter Credit Union!”

Angella Young, a teller in our Central Falls branch, is the winner of the Employee of the Quarter Award for the second quarter of the year — and she couldn’t be happier!

“I do love it here,” says Angella, a former Boston resident whose family moved to Pawtucket  six years ago. That family includes her husband, a 16-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son. “This is a great place to work. The people are nice and friendly, and the members are so nice and friendly, too.

“It’s like a second home for me. It’s like family. I could spend my life here.”

Angella first learned about Dexter Credit Union when she heard about a job opening there shortly after she moved to Rhode Island. She had almost five years of previous experience as a teller, then head teller, with Fleet Bank (now Bank of America) in Boston to her credit, and took pride in her work.

A job as a teller with Dexter Credit Union seemed like it might be a good fit. It was. “I’ve found a home here,” she says today, some five years later.

“I love everything about my job” she says, “but I especially like working at the drive-up window. The pace is brisk, particularly on Fridays, and it keeps you on your toes. Members are in the drive-up lane for a reason. They need fast service and I consider it my obligation to meet their needs. And, of course, there’s the lollipops for the kids in the car, if the parents say it’s okay!”

Angella’s idea of a perfect day? “It’s a Friday, I’m working at the drive-up window from 7 to 6, it’s a sunny day, people are happy, and I’m in balance!”

Congratulations, Angella, on being named Employee of the Quarter! We wish you many perfect days ahead here at Dexter Credit Union.
